when a Sales Rep (SR) walks into your business or calls to convince you their rates, machines, and bonuses are the best, what determines if they are better than your existing? What do you do so they earn your business?
SR– “We have great competitive rates”
Merchant– Asks for a rate analysis meaning, if you already have merchant services and exploring to switch, give the sales rep a copy of your statement and ask them to do a “comparative analysis”. This process should take 24-48 hours. This will help you get a clear picture if wanting to move forward with changing your processor.
SR– We have a great $300-$600 sign-on bonus
Merchant– Make sure your sign-on bonus (if leaving your existing processor) is in writing and sign off on it. If it’s just a verbal commitment, you may or may not receive the incentive as promised (once you sign the agreement to switch), they are not obligated to give you the bonus.
